Everything the New Hyundai Santa Fe Has to Offer
Korean auto giants Hyundai are known for their affordable yet sturdy and stylish cars. Hyundai has a front runner in almost every car segment, and they intend to maintain this with the new Santa Fe. It has something for everyone, with spacious cabins, a variety of powertrains, fuel economy, and other features to enhance its passengers’ experience. This article discusses all that the new Santa Fe has in store for you.
A new trim addition, revamped exteriors, and much more
The wait for a hybrid variant is finally over as the new Hyundai Santa Fe comes with a hybrid powertrain option that churns nearly 226 horsepower. The Santa Fe PHEV can be driven for up to 30 miles when driving exclusively in electric mode. However, check with your local dealer to make sure if this trim is available in your state. Apart from this, the Hyundai Santa Fe XRT trim level now comes with a more rugged exterior appearance with additional skid plates, roof cross rails, and 18-inch dark alloy wheels. While these new changes and additions definitely garner some attention, it is what’s under the hood that makes all the difference.
Under the hood
The base model of the new Hyundai Santa Fe consists of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that offers 191 horsepower. However, they also have a turbocharged version offering a more powerful 277 horsepower that clocks 0 to 60mph in six seconds. Both the powertrains come with 8-speed automatic transmission and front wheel and four drive arrangement. The hybrid trim has a 1.6-liter four-cylinder coupled with a pair of electric motors and a six-speed automatic transmission, and standard all-wheel drive. It gives an output of 226 horsepower.
In terms of fuel economy, the non-turbo four-cylinder option offers 25mpg (miles per gallon) in the city and 28mpg on the highway. The turbocharged version may be preferable for long-distance driving as it offers 28mpg on the highway and 22mpg in the city. They also have a plug-in hybrid model that consists of a 12.4-kWh, which lets you drive up to 31 miles on a single charge.
Apart from this, the Hyundai Santa Fe provides agility and minimal steering feedback to ensure a relaxed and stable ride. But does it offer all the safety features needed in a mid-sized SUV? Let us find out:
Safety
The new Hyundai Santa Fe, like any other SUV, has a ton of standard driver-assistance features like adaptive cruise control, lane following assist, forward-collision warning, and automated emergency braking. These features ensure the safety of passengers, cars, and pedestrians on the road. The SUV’s safety rating has been certified by National Highway Traffic Safety and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
Interiors, comfort, and everything else
The new Hyundai Santa Fe is known for its solid build quality and edgy designs. The interior is an attractive cabin that consists of features like a digital gauge cluster, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a head-up display. Moreover, the generous spaciousness makes the new Santa Fe ideal for long road trips. The cargo space behind the rear seat can easily accommodate 15 carry-on bags and three additional bags with the rear seat folded flat. Regarding infotainment and connectivity, you get an 8.0-inch touchscreen in base models and 10.3-inch in upper trims. The touchscreen is user-friendly with desirable features, delivering a pleasant infotainment experience.
Apart from this, it comes with a standard wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ with optional wireless charging and a 12-speaker stereo system of 630-watt output. Hyundai is one of the best when it comes to warranty and maintenance coverage. They offer a Limited and Powertrain warranty to cover five years or 60,000 miles and ten years or 100,000 miles, respectively. However, it is the maintenance cover of three years or 36,000 miles that sets it apart from its competitors.
