  • Frequent Urination : Frequent urination medically termed as frequency; refers to the urge of urinating more often than normal. It hampers the daily routine and can also cause an interruption in the normal sleep pattern. It may be a sign of some hidden medical condition which may be fatal. Anxiety, medication like diuretics, urinary tract infection, bladder cancer, kidney stones, etc. are the primary causes of frequent urination.
  • Urgency : Sometimes an individual cannot control the urge to urinate, and this is medically termed as urgency. Cystitis, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, overuse of alcohol, caffeine, etc. are the possible causes of urgency.

  • Kegel exercises : During pregnancy, Kegel exercises can be performed to strengthen the muscles of the pelvis and urethra, which support the bladder. It is advised to do this exercise at least three times a day for at least 4 to 8 weeks to get better results.
  • Biofeedback : Biofeedback helps in creating awareness among patients about how their body functions. It is generally used during Kegel exercises and helps in improving the control of pelvic muscles.
  • Bladder training : Bladder training is advised as a urinary problems treatment so that frequent urination can be treated. It helps in holding urine in the bladder for a longer period and lasts at least 2 – 3 months.

However, some basic lifestyle habits like having a balanced diet or keeping healthy and active lifestyle can help in controlling the urine output.
